Equity, diversity and inclusion are not equal. Diversity and inclusion are essential to enable actionable empathy in conjunction with concern. Diversity and inclusion, however, do not ensure needed systemic change nor ensure greater trust among those affected by inequity.
AEG defines inequity as addressable, asymmetric suffering. Inequity is measurable. Inequity is locational. Inequity is not equal in terms of urgency or magnitude. Solving for inequity must be grounded in health-based diagnostic and performance metrics that enable triage and clear, ongoing measurement of relief. Solving for inequity requires inclusive understanding informed by diverse human experiences that reflect concern and empathy.
