Through the #ElectrifyZerega Community Roundtable, the #ElectrifyZerega Task Force (#EZTF) aims to coordinate, convene and document community engagements to expedite Medium Duty/Heavy Duty (MD/HD) fleet electrification in the Zerega Avenue Industrial Business Zone (Z-IBZ). Purpose:

Workshop with large fleets to accelerate data input into EPRI’s EVs2Scale2030 Program. It is part of a national effort, in coordination with regional utilities, government leaders and fleet associations, to gather the data needed to enable utility industry planning efforts

The Zerega Avenue Industrial Business Zone (Z-IBC) in the Bronx, New York, specifically in Castle Hill, ranks in the 87th national percentile for Particulate Matter, 90th for cancer risks, and 91st for hazardous waste proximity, with over 38% of residents classified as low income.

About this Task Force:

#EZTF is a multi-member volunteer team inspired by the AEG and Northeast Clean Energy Council (NECEC) Clean Transportation Summit held in Brooklyn on November 16, 2023 where 128 public and private leaders were challenged to align on a critical obstacle preventing the electrification of MD/HD fleets within cities to achieve climate, health and equity commitments.
